The name "UAV Publications" is derived from the Persian word Pahpad—an acronym for "Pilotless Aircraft Guided from a Distance"—which itself translates the widely used term Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). In recent years, UAVs have become central to discussions on technology, transportation, and the future of numerous industries. What sets UAV Publications apart is not only its focus on innovative, interdisciplinary subjects, but also its human-centered, culturally conscious, and future-oriented approach.

This publishing house was established with a clear mission: to raise public awareness of emerging UAV technologies and their civilian applications, while fostering the creation of native, localized content in this growing field. But our vision goes far beyond that. In its initial phase, UAV Publications focused on producing and distributing works in the fields of aviation, aerospace, and UAV-related technologies. Our first titles were specialized—some even international in scope—covering topics such as UAV design, aerial mapping, agricultural uses, postal and delivery services, environmental monitoring, and disaster relief. These works have been translated and published in four languages—Persian, English, Arabic, and Turkish—to ensure wider access both within Iran and beyond.

However, our audience is not limited to professionals and technical experts. One of our proudest achievements has been the development of accessible, illustrated, and narrative-driven books on UAVs for children, teenagers, and general readers. A prime example is "What Is a UAV?"—a successful title written in clear and engaging language for readers of all ages, designed to introduce foundational concepts of drone technology.
